I own a home on land that my grandfather and grandmother rented/sharecropped. A small creek (Willet Branch) runs through my property. My grandmother has told me stories about carrying buckets of water from this creek, up the hill, back to her rented home so that she could wash the kids and clothes with the creek water. My father has told me stories about swimming in this creek with his brothers and the fun that they had. I sat at my window, watched the wind blow through the trees and imagined my grandparents as young people and my father as a child making their way up and down this hill above the branch as I wrote this. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed watching.
